ECUST Summer School 2026: Globstudy Students Join STEM and Green Energy Programs in Shanghai

A dozen Globstudy members are currently in Shanghai, participating in two fully funded summer school programs hosted by East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), one of China's leading research universities, ranked among the top 600 worldwide.

Two Programs, One Campus

The group is split across two tracks running simultaneously at ECUST:

The STEM Summer School, running July 13–24, brings together high school and undergraduate students for intensive study in Information Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, and Biotechnology, combined with hands-on lab work and extracurricular activities.

The Green Energy Training Program, running July 12–30, is designed for undergraduate and graduate students, doctoral candidates, and working professionals. The curriculum covers hydrogen production and storage, China's "Dual Carbon" carbon neutrality policy, and real-world visits to energy companies across Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang.

What the Experience Looks Like

Beyond the lectures, students are exploring Shanghai through organized city tours, cultural activities, and Chinese language sessions, giving them a well-rounded experience of academic life in China. This combination of rigorous coursework and cultural immersion is what makes these programs genuinely valuable for participants' international profiles.

All participants are attending on full scholarships, covering tuition, accommodation, meals, and program fees, funded by Shanghai's municipal government and ECUST.

Following the SHOU Summer School

This program comes on the heels of our recently concluded Marine Sustainability Summer School at Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU), where three Globstudy students completed a two-week program covering marine sustainability, Shanghai city tours, and excursions to Hangzhou.
